Blue Ridge Parkway
Coined as “America’s Favorite Drive”, this scenic highway runs nearly 500 miles from North Carolina to Virginia. Locals and tourists alike enjoy driving the parkway to view scenery, wildlife, or access nearby hiking trailheads.
Chimney Rock State Park
This park sustained significant damage during Hurricane Helene in 2024, but has since reopened and now invites guests to visit again. This 8,000-acre state park is home to the famous Chimney Rock and Hickory Nut Falls. If you’re up for a challenge, take the stairs to the top of Chimney Rock for a 75-mile panoramic view of the gorge and Lake Lure. They also have an elevator for those who prefer to skip the climb.
Grandfather Mountain
Visit Grandfather Mountain and cross the mile-high swinging bridge for stunning mountain views. This breathtaking mountain peak is located about 75 miles north of Asheville, just off the Blue Ridge Parkway.
The North Carolina Arboretum

Pisgah National Forest
The Pisgah National Forest comprises 500,000+ acres of forest land across the mountains of Western North Carolina. If you’re a hiker, you can choose from over 480 trails within the forest to explore! Highlights include Looking Glass Falls, Sliding Rock, and miles of waterfall-laden trails near Brevard.

Have been to the Blue Ridge Parkway; Chimney, and Pisgah. I have such fond Memories of each place!!! We even went during Covid in 2020 as a family. So many good memories that are a taste of Heaven!!!!
