Volunteering at Ridgecrest: A Quick Guide

For much of our history, people of God have brought their incredible heart and passion to serve in Ridgecrest’s volunteer ministry. Our volunteers leave a lasting impression on thousands of people—some we may not fully know this side of heaven. But what does volunteering at Ridgecrest look like? We’re glad you asked!

Our volunteers serve in various roles on campus helping us accomplish our mission of impacting lives for God’s glory. They are people who:

  • Have an authentic and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • A servant’s heart and desire to serve others with excellence and grace.
  • Are mentally, physically, and emotionally able to serve approximately 30-35 hours per week.
  • Are willing and able to live in an intentional community with other believers.
  • Are flexible and teachable mentally, physically, and emotionally.
  • They can take time to be away from the normal routine of life to focus on their walk with the Lord and others.
  • Affirm and abide by our statement of faith and policies.

If these describe you, and you want to take the next step towards becoming a volunteer, you can apply here. After our team reviews your application and accepts, you can begin volunteering with us!

After you have been accepted to serve with us, you will be scheduled to serve in one of the following departments.

Ticket Greeting

Our ticket greeters are the first faces that guests see when they enter our dining room. They are responsible for checking guests into the dining room by punching their meal tickets.

Hosting

Also working in our dining room are our hosts. They are responsible for wiping tables and assisting guests with their trays when needed.

Outlets (Clouds Coffee Shop & Nibble Nook)

Our outlet volunteers have a fun job of scooping ice cream and making coffee. During downtime in this role, you will help tidy our outlet spaces.

Kitchen

Volunteers who work in the kitchen assist with meal prep. Whether it be prepping salads or desserts, they play a big part in helping our food service teams.

Laundry

Our volunteers who work in laundry are truly serving behind the scenes. They help our full-time laundry team fold and organize bedding. Their assistance is greatly appreciated during our busy months of the fall.

Grounds

Grounds is a great department to serve in if you love the outdoors and gardening. Our volunteers who work in grounds can expect to help with planting flowers, watering plants, weeding, etc.

Depending on when you visit, you will serve in a department that needs the most assistance for that season. For example, in the spring we have a greater need for volunteers to help with our grounds. Likewise, in the summer and fall months, we have a greater need for volunteers in our outlet and food service departments. However, we also take your personal preference into account when scheduling. We want to make sure your gifts and talents are best utilized.

Ridgecrest’s mission could not be made possible without the help of our dedicated volunteers. If you’re looking for a place to get away from the ordinary and focus on how God can use you to serve others, please consider volunteering with us.
