Due to COVID-19, the Downhill at Dawn Half Marathon and Downhill at Dusk 5K has been moved to Saturday, September 26, 2020. The half marathon will start at 7:01 AM EDT and the 5K will start at 6:00 PM. For more information see the registration tab below.
Downhill@Dusk 5K, part of our annual Downhill Running Series, is a race for the whole family! The course from Ridgecrest to Black Mountain drops over 200 feet in elevation, creating a fast, fun run and offers a great ending for those who ran Downhill@Dawn Half Marathon earlier that day. Kick off summer at Ridgecrest, and enjoy new memories and traditions with friends and loved ones!
Due to COVID-19, the Downhill at Dawn Half Marathon and Downhill at Dusk 5K has been moved to Saturday, September 26, 2020. The half marathon will start at 7:01 AM EDT and the 5K will start at 6:00 PM.
All current registrations will be maintained and automatically transferred to September 26, 2020. Should you not be able to race on September 26, 2020, you can cancel your entry and receive a 100% credit for the half marathon and/or 5k on Saturday, May 29, 2021. You may also transfer your entry to another person up until September 21, 2020.
To cancel, go to www.IMAthlete.com, log in, click My Events (from the global nav), Click the Manage Registration link next to this event, Select Cancel Registration, and follow the rest of the steps to cancel.
If you have room reservations at Ridgecrest Conference Center, your reservation will be transferred to September 25 and/or 26, 2020. If you would like to cancel or change your reservation at Ridgecrest Conference Center please email Ridgecrest@LifeWay.com with your request.

Packet Pickup/Late Registration
Friday, September 25, 4:00-7:00 PM at the ARC on the Ridgecrest Campus

Everyone must pick up their own packet and provide a picture ID to do so. Parents may pick up the packets of minor children but must also present a picture ID. No ID, no race, no exceptions!
This downhill 5K will start at the back of the Ridgecrest Conference Center near the ARC and head west down old US 70 to Black Mountain, finishing at Black Mountain First Baptist Church. The course is USA Track and Field certified.

All participants will receive a short-sleeve, tech shirt.
Those who complete both the half marathon and 5K will receive a special award at the finish line of the 5K. The deadline to register for the Downhill Double is April 15. Those who register for one race and then add a second after this date will not be eligible for the Downhill Double prize.
Post-race activities, including the award ceremony, will take place at Black Mountain First Baptist Church. There will be food, chocolate milk, water and Gatorade. Shuttles back to Ridgecrest will leave from the rear of the church.
Awards will be presented at the finish area in Black Mountain at approximately 7:15 p.m. Double dipping of awards will not occur. All finishers will receive a medal and the award categories include:
1-3 Male & Female
1 Masters Male & Female
1-3 male and female in the following age brackets:
12 and under, 13-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 65-69, and 70 and over.
The race will utilize chip timing. Chips must be worn on your shoe in order for you to receive a time. The chips will be provided in the same envelope as your race bib.
The simplest parking is near Woodland (building on campus), the ARC and parking near the start of the race in Royal Gorge. Please follow the directions of our parking volunteers. Shuttles will provide transportation back to Ridgecrest after the race every 15-30 minutes as needed.
The Ridgecrest Conference Center has a NO REFUND policy. However, we do offer partial discounts for those canceling during our cancellation periods. If the event is NOT sold out, a discount code for 50% of your race registration fee will be offered until 7 days prior to the race date.
No discounts codes will be given within 7 days before the event if the event is not sold out. If the event IS sold out, a discount code for 100% of your race registration fee will be offered until 5 days prior to the race date. No discounts codes will be given within 5 days before the event if the event is sold out. Discount codes can be used to register for another Ridgecrest Conference Center race and will be valid for 12 months after the event date.
You may transfer your entry to another person by submitting the TRANSFER FORM. The deadline to transfer an entry is Monday, September 21. If you cancelled your entry for the 2019 race, you must use the code you received in your cancellation confirmation email from IMAthlete to receive your 2020 discount.
Unofficial results will be posted near the finish area. Official results will be posted at this site by Sunday, September 27.
All of the volunteers are from the Ridgecrest Conference Center. Please thank them as you make your way through the course.
